Brian is a well-established FTSE 100 PLC Director, an accomplished PLC Board Chairman and an experienced Non Executive Director. In addition to over 30 years as a professional retailer, experienced manager and successful businessman, Brian has worked extensively in the international arena particularly North America, Australia and Continental Europe.

After almost twenty years working in UK retailing, he joined BAA PLC in 1992, initially as Retail Director at Gatwick Airport and then as Group Duty Free Director before being appointed to the main BAA PLC board in 1997 as Group Retail Director with responsibility for the strategy, finance, development, letting, marketing and management of BAA's commercial business with global retail sales in excess of £3 billion and revenue of more than £700 million. He was responsible for setting up BAA's international duty-free company, World Duty Free PLC, which he chaired for eight years.

During his time at BAA, Brian was a prominent and influential decision-maker and opinion-former in various industry associations and also joined the Boards of lastminute.com PLC and Jurys Doyle Hotels PLC as a Non Executive Director. He was appointed Chairman of lastminute.com PLC in 2004.
