Since December 2001 Gary Bond has been Chief Executive of McArthurGlen European Development Ltd. Mr Bond oversees McArthurGlen's acquisition and development programme, focusing on taking forward further developments in continental Europe. Mr Bond's current focus is on new developments in Italy and Austria, extending several existing McArthurGlen centres and researching new markets for future expansion.
Mr Bond joined BAA McArthurGlen in March 1996 as Development Director taking overall responsibility for the development programme of opening Designer Outlet Centres in key UK and continental European locations.
Prior to joining McArthurGlen Mr Bond was Development Director for Tarmac Properties, responsible for redevelopment of the former rail works site in Swindon.
The 140-acre development (recognised by the Prince of Wales in 1999) was the largest privately financed regeneration project in the UK, creating almost 2 million sq ft of mixed-use buildings.
Mr Bond is ARICS qualified and has an honours degree in surveying.
